Research progress on relationship between fine particulate matter exposure and stroke

    世界卫生组织将细颗粒物(PM2.5)污染列为全球卫生面临的十项威胁之一。近年来,PM2.5污染对脑卒中的影响成为新的关注点。本文综述了PM2.5暴露与脑卒中的流行病学研究;论述了PM2.5暴露可能促发或诱导脑卒中发生发展的生物学新机制,包括PM2.5易位、自主神经功能障碍、糖异生、表观遗传机制等;归纳了PM2.5暴露与脑卒中发生的影响因素;提出建立脑卒中高危人群发病以及患者死亡的预警机制,从而为国内脑卒中一级防控及空气污染治理开展提供借鉴。

     

    Abstract:

    The World Health Organization lists fine particulate matter (PM2.5) as one of the ten threats to global health. In recent years, the impact of PM2.5 pollution on stroke has become a new focus. This article reviewed the epidemiological studies on PM2.5 exposure and stroke, and discussed the new biological mechanisms that PM2.5 exposure may trigger or induce the occurrence and development of stroke, including PM2.5 translocation, autonomic dysfunction, gluconeogenesis, and epigenetic mechanisms. The factors affecting PM2.5 exposure and stroke occurrence were summarized. It was proposed to establish an early warning mechanism for the incidence and death of high-risk stroke groups, aiming to provide reference for the primary prevention and control of stroke and air pollution control in China.
