Quantitative Evaluation Index System for Central Air Conditioning Hygiene by Delphi Method

  • Objective To construct a quantitative evaluation index system for health supervision of central air conditioning through indicator selection and weight assignment.

Methods A two-round Delphi consultation was held among 15 experts on central air conditioning in Shanghai to determine the first and the second order indicators, critical items, and index weights.

Results The return rate of Delphi consultation tables was 100% in both rounds. The authority coefficient ranged from 0.71 to 0.97, and the mean value was 0.82. The mean values were greater than 4 in seven first order indicators (i.e. organizational management, test management, fresh air system and computer room management, air treatment equipment management, wind pipe management, air vent management, cooling tower management) and thirty-three second order indicators (such as organizations and personnel). The variability coefficients of the seven first order indicators were all less than 0.25, and 81.8% of the thirty-three second order indicators had variability coefficients less than 0.25. The total coordinate coefficient of the second round of consultation was 0.330 (P<0.01).

Conclusion The findings indicate consensus achieved among the invited experts. The Delphi method is effective in constructing the quantitative evaluation index system for health supervision of central air conditioning.
