Research Progress on Association between PM2.5 and Asthma

  • The prevalence of asthma over the past few decades have increased rapidly across the world, and it has become a common chronic disease. Enormous evidence suggests associations of PM2.5 and asthma attack/aggravation. The present review summarizes PM2.5 composition, physicochemical characteristics, adverse health effects, PM2.5 and asthma immunoregulation, and relevant epidemiological studies, aiming to provide a scientific basis for further research on the effects of PM2.5 on asthma.
