Research progress on vibration-induced nervous impairment

  • Occupational hand-arm vibration syndrome refers to damage of circulatory, nervous, and musculoskeletal functions of hand-arm system caused by long-term hand-transmitted vibration. Vibration-induced nervous impairment (VNI) has attract increasing attention and has become a research hot spot in the prevention and control of occupational vibration hazards. In this paper, VNI related research progresses were reviewed, focusing on pathologic changes, sensory nerve function changes, molecular mechanism, and the central nervous injury caused by vibration exposure, and directions for further research were prospected.
