Abstract:
Objective To examine the relationship between different psychological health status and sleep quality ofemployees in Xinjiang large state-owned enterprises.
Methods Employees stratified by industry and type of work were selectedfrom Xinjiang large state-owned enterprises using stratified and cluster sampling strategy.The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and the Symptom Checklist (SCL-90) were used to assess their sleep quality and mental health.
Results A total of 900employees were selected and 858 questionnaires were validated.Except the somatization score (1.35& #177;0.52),other SCL-90 subscalescores were lower than the Chinese and the Xinjiang local norms (P<0.05).Except the sleep efficiency which scored 423.39,otherPSQI components of the employees with positive psychological status scored higher than those of the normal employees (P<0.05).The results of logistic regression showed that risk factors for sleep quality were working age,somatization,obsessive-compulsive,andanxiety,and positive correlations were identified between them (β=0.46,OR=1.58;β=0.94,OR=2.56;β=0.52,OR=1.68;β=0.83,OR=2.30,respectively).
Conclusion The psychological health status of young employees in Xinjiang large state-ownedenterprises is at a high level in general.Psychological health might be associated with sleep quality.Along with the increases ofworking age,somatization,obsessive-compulsive,and anxiety,the possibility of sleep disorders is elevated.
