Abstract
In September 2016, USFDA announced a ban on 19 compounds in antibacterial soap, such as triclosan and triclocarban, mainly because manufacturers cannot provide the safety and effectiveness data of those compounds. To our knowledge, 7 compounds including triclocarban, triclosan, and phenol have been more studied in China; 4-hexylresorcinol, methyl benzethonium chloride, and nonylphenoxypoly (ethyleneoxy) ethanoliodine have a few toxicological profiles availbale; and the rest are poorly understood. This article summarized the toxicological information of these selected compounds.
