Analysis on the Reliability and Validity of KAP Questionnaire on AIDS Prevention for Female Entertainment Workers

  • Objective To evaluate the reliability and validity of Sino-Canada designed KAP questionnaire on AIDS prevention for female entertainment workers (FEWs).

    Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted among 125 FEWs who were randomly selected from 25 entertainment venues to measure the internal consistency and construct validity of the questionnaire.

    Results Among all the 5 parts of the questionnaire, the Cronbach's α coefficient and split-half reliability were ranged from 0.516 to 0.837. The factor analysis showed that the 9 common factors could explain 69.52% of the questionnaire and the structure of the questionnaire was consistent with theoretical hypothesis.

    Conclusion The reliability and validity of the questionnaire has reached the requirements of a standard questionnaire.
